Senzorika: wireless temperature and humidity sensors for cold stores and warehouses
Lizzard Solutions designed the TH1B battery-powered BLE sensor and the CC1 LTE-M / NB-IoT cloud gateway for Senzorika. Both are at the prototype stage, with production packages ready.
The problem
Cold stores and warehouses need continuous temperature and humidity monitoring. Wired sensors are expensive to install, and wireless ones are only useful if they run for a long time without anyone changing batteries.
[Senzorika](https://senzorika.rs) is our own product line built to solve this: small wireless sensors that report to the cloud through a gateway.

Our solution
We designed two devices.
**TH1B sensor.** A wireless BLE sensor built on the Nordic nRF52840 and the Bosch BME280. The compact 4-layer board is designed in KiCad 9 for machine assembly. It runs on a single primary lithium AA cell (Li-SOCl2, 3.6 V), aiming for years of operation without charging. The enclosure concept is a ventilated half-cylinder with an LED; two halves join into a cylinder.
**CC1 cloud gateway.** It collects readings over BLE (nRF52840) and sends them to the cloud over LTE-M / NB-IoT (nRF9160), with GPS on board. It is powered directly from 220 V with isolation from the mains, has an RGB LED that shows the cloud connection status, and is built on a 4-layer board.

How it works
1. TH1B sensors measure temperature and humidity and send readings over Bluetooth Low Energy.
2. The CC1 gateway receives the readings over BLE and forwards them to the cloud over LTE-M or NB-IoT.
3. An RGB LED on the gateway shows the cloud connection status at a glance.
4. Sensors are packed 100 per box in two layers, and shipping follows the rules for lithium batteries.

Tech stack
- Nordic nRF52840 (BLE)
- Nordic nRF9160 (LTE-M / NB-IoT, GPS)
- Bosch BME280
- Li-SOCl2 AA primary cell (3.6 V)
- KiCad 9, 4-layer PCBs
- Isolated 220 V supply (CC1)
Results
1. TH1B passed DRC and its rev A1 production package is ready; the prototype has not been ordered yet.
2. CC1 rev A1 is ready to order, with parts still being sourced.
3. The project is at the prototype stage, so there are no field results yet.
